Daisy Chain Smart CarJeremy Simpson - Mercedes-Benz of Teesside

What is your role at Mercedes-Benz of Teesside?
Head of Business.

How important is local charitable support to Mercedes-Benz of Teesside?
Our team of people at Mercedes-Benz of Teesside like to give something back to the local community and help where we can. The staff all vote for which charity to support and Daisy Chain won, with it being local and relevant.

How did Mercedes-Benz of Teesside become introduced to Daisy Chain?
I was first introduced to Daisy Chain by the school my youngest son attends. We participated in a fun run to raise funds for the farm and took an interest in learning more about them.

What did Mercedes-Benz of Teesside's staff get out of the volunteering experience at Daisy Chain?
The management team visited the farm and met a number of the staff and it was a real eye-opener as to what they need and how much they rely on donations. This is what encouraged us to act and to help where we could.

How has Mercedes-Benz of Teesside supported Daisy Chain over the last year?
We had a couple of teams in the annual Boat Race and a number of individuals did the sky dive and the Great North Run to help raise funds. The dealership has also tried to help by having a Christmas jumper day and "bring a toy to work" day.

How did you come up with the idea of donating the SMART car to Daisy Chain?
After speaking to Daisy Chain, we tried to fund a way to help them reduce their running costs - the SMART car was a great way to do this and having it all sign-written promotes both the charity and brings awareness to our brand too.
